The Vision
Hey everyone! My name is Erica-Renee and one of my biggest passions in life is finding and creating different fashion looks. This blog is the perfect place for you to come for ideas and easy ways to spice up an outfit! Clothing has always been an integral part of my self expression. I remember reciting what I considered to be ‘the rules of fashion’ to anyone that would listen. I considered myself an expert on all things fashion and style by the time I reached 8 years old. However, in the years since that self declaration I’ve learned to throw the rule book out the window. Fashion is what is given to the world from designers, but style is what we choose to take and make our own. My clothes are my comfort on a rough day, or my hand selected armor for going out in the world. The ability to create different looks that represent how I’m feeling on a particular day, or that represent how I wish I felt that day has given me a outlet to express myself and feel empowered when nothing else does.

Growing up I found that there were always steadfast guidelines; what to wear for what body shape, how to get the perfect silhouette, what color looked best on which complexion etc. etc. There’s nothing wrong with following rules, however, I do suggest maybe trying something out of the box every once in awhile. Clothing is an extremely personal necessity that helps us navigate our lives, but it can also be insanely fun. Fashion is art, and style is expression. Trends come and go, and come back again, and it is all an opportunity to express who we are. If rules help you and make you comfortable, then that’s great and I say continue with what works for you. But if you’re unhappy with your look, your clothes, or maybe just want to try something new… I say throw the rule book out the window and wear whatever the hell you want. We can always try to figure out what fruit we are if we want to –but let me tell you, life got a whole lot easier when I stopped comparing myself to a pear. Everyone is shaped differently and has a different eye for what they think looks good, I say wear it all, try it all, why not?

I’ve created this blog to showcase different looks and ways I play with clothing and accessories. I want to show a confident, imperfect take on fashion, and offer ideas and thoughts on how to create different looks. Within these pages you’ll read my impression of all of the different pieces and brands that I love, know, or try. I want to challenge concepts of fashion and trends, and showcase fun ways to stay inspired and creative with your closet. At the end of the day clothing means something different to everyone. I hope to provide insight on my personal take, in hopes that others can relate and feel validated. Clothing is so much fun and I want to represent that in my content. My goal is to be a small niche on the web where you can take a break on a busy day or that inspires you to take another look at your closet and see a completely new outfit that you didn’t realize you had. To me fashion is art, it’s expression, –it’s personal, yet it’s universal in so many ways. Stick around if you’re interested in seeing what that looks like. Thanks for reading!
Quotes
Fashion you can buy, but style you possess. The key to style is learning who you are, which takes years. There’s no how-to road map to style. It’s about self expression and, above all, attitude.
Iris Apfel
Fashion is what you’re offered four times a year by designers. And style is what you choose.
Lauren Hutton
A little bad taste is like a nice splash of paprika. We all need a splash of bad taste—it’s hearty, it’s healthy, it’s physical. I think we could use more of it. No taste is what I’m against.
